At present, the industry mainly uses advanced treatment processes such as 'ozone oxidation method', 'Fenton oxidation method', and 'activated carbon adsorption method' to treat petrochemical wastewater, industrial park sewage, and urban sewage plant tailwater containing industrial wastewater. Problems with the above advanced treatment processes include: limited COD removal rate, about 30~60%, weak impact resistance, unstable effluent, high investment, and high operating costs. To this end, our company has developed activated coke adsorption and regeneration technology equipment.
1. Introduction to granular biochar
Biochar is a granular adsorption material with a large number of functional groups and rich mesopores (2nm-50nm). It is this pore structure and functional group characteristics that make biochar have a wide range of applications in the field of sewage treatment. Its main function is to remove pollutants such as COD, chroma, colloids, and heavy metals.

The difference between biocoke and activated carbon is mainly reflected in the different pore structures of biocoke and activated carbon. Biocoke has more mesoporous and macroporous structures and less microporous structure. The proportion of pores is higher, the specific surface area is lower than that of activated carbon, and the strength is higher than that of activated carbon.
The relevant parameters of granular biochar are as follows:

The advantages of granular biochar are as follows:
1) It has a high proportion of mesopores and has good adsorption effect on macromolecular organic matter;
2) The price is relatively cheap, about 20% cheaper than activated carbon products of the same quality;
3) High effective adsorption rate and degradation rate.
2. Composition of biocoke process system
The continuous biochar adsorption and regeneration process includes: biochar adsorption system, coke discharge system, regeneration activation system, and coke loading system.
The flow chart is as follows:

The process diagram is as follows:

4. Activated coke regeneration technology
The saturated granular activated coke waste produced during the water treatment process is regenerated by physical high-temperature heating. The saturated activated coke is heated to cause part of the organic matter adsorbed on the activated coke to boil, vaporize and desorb. A decomposition reaction occurs at high temperature, and small molecular hydrocarbons are generated and desorbed. At the same time, during the heating process of saturated activated coke, the remaining moisture on its surface heats up and turns into high-temperature steam, which is used to assist in cleaning the pores in the activated coke and restore its adsorption performance. The regeneration performance recovery rate is more than 99%, the regeneration yield is more than 99%, and the crushing rate is less than 10%.
